- This is a bottom feeding specifies that is rarely seen basking. These stunning turtles have a dome shaped shell that is dark green with marginal shields that are yellow. Their colors become more intense as they age and the yellows turn to a more vibrant gold. These turtles prefer slow moving fresh water.
